How much does carpet cleaning cost with a bond clean in Canberra?
Carpet steam cleaning added to a bond clean starts at $180 plus GST for one carpeted bedroom, and each further bedroom adds $25 plus GST. Living areas, stairs, hallways and the other carpeted spaces are each their own line, and a room with no carpet is never charged.
Carpet sits outside the bond clean package
The end of lease package is priced on bedrooms and bathrooms, and carpet is always a separate price on top of it. The bond clean price covers the rooms on the inclusions list. The carpet is added after that, and we count only the rooms that have carpet in them.
Sometimes houses don't even have carpet.
Plenty of houses have carpet in the bedrooms only, or in the living area only. Tell us which rooms are carpeted and those are the rooms on the price.
The bedrooms are priced in bands
The bedroom price is a band that grows by the same step. A four bedroom house with carpet in every bedroom pays the fourth band, and a fifth or sixth carpeted bedroom adds one more step each.
The carpet bands count carpeted bedrooms and nothing else. A three bedroom, two bathroom house with carpet in two of its bedrooms pays the 2 bedroom band, and the bathrooms never enter the carpet price.
| Carpeted bedrooms | Price, plus GST |
|---|---|
| 1 | $180 |
| 2 | $205 |
| 3 | $230 |
| 4 | $255 |
| 5 or more | $255, then $25 for each bedroom over 4 |
Living areas, stairs and hallways are their own lines
Every carpeted space outside the bedrooms has its own price. The size on each line is the size the rate card prices.
| Area | Counted as | Price, plus GST |
|---|---|---|
| Living area | under 25 sqm | $60 |
| Dining area | under 25 sqm | $60 |
| Combined lounge and dining | under 30 sqm | $85 |
| Rumpus area | under 25 sqm | $50 |
| Study | each | $40 |
| Area | Counted as | Price, plus GST |
|---|---|---|
| Staircase | 15 stairs max | $50 |
| Hallway | under 3 metres | $25 |
| Landing area | per item | $12 |
| Walk-in robe | per item | $20 |
| Rug | per item | $35 |
The landing, the walk-in robe and the rug are priced per item, so two walk-in robes are two lines.
Flea treatment goes on with the carpet
If a pet has lived in the property, agents often ask for a flea treatment whether or not there are fleas, so check with your agent. We lay it on the carpet with the steam clean. With a bond clean's carpet it is $60 plus GST, one line however many rooms. Ask the agent before the day, because the treatment goes down at the same visit as the steam clean.
Carpet cleaning booked on its own, without a bond clean, has its own room prices on the carpet and rug page.
