Window cleaning

Windows, tracks, frames, and the bits people forget.

A window clean here is the glass, the tracks, the frames, the fly screens and the external cobwebs, and the last two are the ones most often left out.

The scope

What we clean, and who books it.

A window is not clean while the track is full of grit and the fly screen is grey, so both are on the list, not an extra. The glass is done on both faces where the room behind it can be reached, and the cobwebs come off the eaves and frames outside.

What is cleaned

  • The glass, both faces where access allows
  • Tracks
  • Frames
  • Fly screens
  • External cobwebs

Who books it

  • Offices
  • Retail stores
  • Strata properties
  • Commercial buildings
  • Homes, priced by the hour

How the glass is reached

The access sets the price.

01From the ground, on a water-fed poleShopfronts and the lower storeys of an office are washed from the footpath with a pole and purified water, so nothing has to be closed off and nobody works at height. It is the cheapest way up and the first one we price.
02From a ladderA balcony, a first-floor window or a pane a pole cannot square up to gets done off the ladder, which is still ground-level work and still inside the rate below.
03Above ground level, on a boom or a harnessOnce the glass is above ladder height the access is most of the cost, and we quote it separately: height window cleaning.

Which of the three a building needs is why we look at the site before quoting.

The rate

BasisPrice
Window cleaning, from$96.25

Window cleaning starts at $96.25 and is priced by the hour above that. GST is added at 10%. For a house, the same arithmetic runs through the price wizard as an hourly visit: $350 covering the first 4 hours, then $87.50 an hour, and you can work the number out before you ring. Anything that needs a boom lift or a harness is quoted on site instead: height window cleaning.

How many, and how high?

Ground-floor glass has a published rate. Anything above it gets looked at first.
