What is a builders clean, and when is it booked in Canberra?
A builders clean is the handover clean a new building gets before the certifier or the client walks it, with the floors done by machine and the detail by hand. We book it back from the inspection date, so the date is the first thing to tell us.
Two jobs on one build
On a construction site we can take on two pieces of work, booked on different days. While the build runs, we clean the site sheds. At the end, we do the handover clean.
- Site shed cleaning
- The site offices, lunchrooms, bathrooms, change rooms and shared amenities, cleaned daily or weekly for as long as the programme runs, with the toilet paper, hand towels and soap supplied and restocked on each visit.
Shed cleaning is quoted after we walk the compound and count the rooms. Tell us how many sheds and amenities there are, roughly how many people use them, and how long the programme runs. The detail is on our site sheds page.
The handover clean, booked back from the inspection
The handover clean is planned back from the date the certifier or the client is coming. Give us that date and we work out when the crew goes in.
We walk the site before we price it, so the price holds and the crew knows the building before the clean starts. After the clean we check it, with the cabinets open.
The floors, by machine
Heavy floors are cleaned by machine, and our crews bring the one each floor needs:
- Ride-on and walk-behind scrubbers
- Rotary machines on hard floors
- Squeegee and extraction on wet slabs
- A ride-on sweeper on decks and car parks
- A hot water extractor for carpet
Boom and scissor lifts are brought in where the job needs them, and high glass is cleaned by our own crew from a lift or a water-fed pole.
The detail, by hand
Once the floors are done, the inside work is by hand. Internal glass is cleaned on both faces. The window tracks, frames and sills, the joinery interiors, drawers and cabinets, and the skirtings, edges and door furniture are all wiped out before the inspection.
Our cleaners hold White Cards and are trained in asbestos and silica awareness. The same crews service the site sheds and amenities while the build runs.
